The Room

Guests can choose between a regular room, a suite larger room with its own living room and a presidential suite with a jacuzzi bath. All rooms are air-conditioned and you can find a mini-bar in them. Find all the differences between the rooms here. I have stayed in a non-smoking guest room on a sixth floor with a balcony and an amazing view of the old city centre. Among other stuff, in the room, there was a TV, a wired telephone, a desk with a lamp, clothes cabinet, an extra blanket and a pillow. The bathroom looked very clean.

The Food

There are two restaurants in the hotel where you can try some local or traditional food every day from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. I have only been there for breakfast which was delicious and diverse. You can pick between different types of fresh and dry fruit, five types of cereals, eggs made on three different ways, cooked and baked vegetables, bread, six different types of salami, cheese, marmalade, pastry, and much more. You may make yourself a coffee, tea or try some of three different juice flavours. Every day they have a special lunch/dinner offer for 14€ per person or you can order something from the menu.

Here to Relax?

The sauna has a capacity of 2 people and is open from 5.30 a.m. to midnight. The same opening hours are valid for the fitness as well which can be found on the opposite side of the sauna. Although the room is quite small, I believe it has everything you need for a good workout since there are many different exercise equipment and a shower if you do not want to go to your room sweaty. When I visited it, there was no one using it so I believe your training or sauna time can be mostly private.

Here with Children?

According to information on their website, kids aged 17 and under stay for free when sharing their parents’ room.  Up to four kids up to 12 years old can eat for free at any time of the day in each of two restaurants.

Here for Business?

The hotel has 8 conference rooms for up to 500 people in the largest room. Their so-called ‘Business Centre’ is opened 24-hours per day and there you can find a printer, scanner and everything you could probably need in an office. Find out more about the event rooms here. If you are looking for some entertainment you may relax in a cocktail lounge, a nightclub or a casino.

The Reviews

Former Holiday Inn guests have nothing but kind words about the hotel staff and room cleanliness. What I loved in particular about staying in this hotel is their early check-in and late check-out time which can result as sleeping in on your vacation or taking some time for yourself in the morning for the gym or spa. Although you have to leave until noon, your baggage can stay locked under their surveillance and you can come to pick it up later. The rooms are probably very good soundproofed because I did not hear any noise from the city or other rooms next to mine.

Getting There

The hotel is distanced 22 kilometres from the Skopje International Airport but there is a shuttle bus which will cost you only 5,40€ to get from the airport to the centre and back. The best thing about this transportation is that the bus’s last stop is exactly in front of the Holiday Inn hotel. From the railway station, you can get there on foot in about 10 minutes. For those who want to travel in a more comfortable way, you can, of course, rent a car at the airport and drive yourself to the hotel. It provides all of its guests with free parking next to the hotel.

The Price

As we can find out on their official website the prices for a room per night start at 46,50€ per person. I believe the price is more than reasonable as the hotel provides good value for the money.
